SAF App gets shortlisted for the Best technology initiative award

FIMTRAC, part of the RTS Group, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best technology initiative award at the 2019 Financial Innovation Awards, presented by The London Institute of Banking & Finance.

SAF Advanced, which at Level 3 puts the motor finance industry’s training on an equal footing with the professional courses required in other markets, is now also available on a new app-based learning platform, SAF Advanced Academy.

The SAF Academy App was designed to support front line business managers and professionals in the automotive finance sector to study and achieve the SAF Advanced qualification offered by the London Institute of banking and Finance, allowing professionals to demonstrate their competence and expertise.

The app follows the established SAF Advanced syllabus and presents the material in a more interactive format – users can also track their progress, then the app identifies those areas where more study is needed and will generate tests to check the user’s development.

John Brannigan, Managing Director of FIMTRAC said: “We are delighted to have the SAF Academy App recognised on the shortlist for these awards, allowing finance professionals to study at their own pace and in a style that suits them – via their smartphone”

Malcolm Miller

Malcolm is RTS Group’s managing director so he oversees everything in the company and spends a large proportion of his time on new business development. He joined us initially as an associate, setting up the Mazda Academy, and became MD in 2013. He is a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Malcolm’s background is as a freelance trainer, largely in the automotive sector but also within the finance industry. His first ever job was as a paperboy – he delivered 40 papers a day from 6am, and was paid double on a Sunday because of the weight he had to carry!

He admits he has a somewhat untidy desk and should probably get the coffees in a bit more often, but his good humour and go-getting approach mean the team let him off. In his spare time, Malcolm is a rugby referee travelling across the south of England, and he has three grown-up children. Malcolm describes himself as “curious” which makes him the perfect person to explore new opportunities for RTS Group.
